Like most bloggers, I am also sending pings everytime I publish a post. Earlier, I visited pingoat and pingomatic to submit my url, but not anymore. Now, I am not doing anything really. And that’s what’s great about this kind of marketing.
I have added a list of ping-services to my wordpress installation, and everything is done automatically from now on. It’s quite amazing actually.

I am not sure if it works better than the time when I submitted my urls to pingoat and pingomatic, but I am receiving traffic and I am not doing anything. That’s what counts for me, and that’s why I am not spending time looking for a new way to ping.
Just a few words about pinging.
The reason I am writing this post, is due to the fact that I have just upgraded my blog to the latest version of Wordpress (version 2.5.1). At the moment I am looking everywhere for errors, and that’s when I discovered all the various places I am pinging when I publish new posts.
If you are not familiar with pings, then you should take a look at this post from lula.
Now, let me just give you all the links I am using. This is exactly how it looks in my blog settings. I don’t know if all of the links works or not, I just got them from a discussion forum (but I can’t remember which one):

Leave a comment if you have something to add to the list, or if you think that I should remove a few of the links.

I also use the feedburner.com pinging features for my blog. Adding more to our list is not considered blog spam by Google?
Quite a massive pinglist!
Hi Ed,
I have also been using the FeedBurner pinging feature, but lately I have only been using the list above.
I am not sure about the blog spamming, but I don’t think that it will be an issue. Because I am only pinging when I have published a new post.
Thanks Jens,
Where exactly should I past this list of sites to ping?
Thanks,
Steve
Hi Steve,
Just watch this video and I think you’ll understand where to put the site you want to ping:
