This might not be new to you, because I have heard about it a while ago, but today is the first time that I am actually testing it. First, traffic from traffic exchanges are not high quality traffic, it´s more like random traffic instead of targeted traffic. And of course, it all depends on what you are advertising.

Close to a hundred percent of the people using traffic exchanges already have a business, the reason they are using traffic exchanges are to generate traffic for their business. If you are promoting another way to get traffic, well, then you might have a shot at a few clicks, but if you are promoting another work from home business, it might be a little more difficult to get people interested at traffic exchanges.

So, what I am doing is this, and remember this is nothing new. I have joined a banner exchange called eBanner Traffic (free to join). If you get people to click on your banner, then you will have their attention and a “more” targeted visitor than the random visitor from a traffic exchange. The way banner exchanges work, is that the more traffic to the other banners, the more traffic to your banner (on the sites of other members).

I have put the code from eBanner Traffic (to show the banners of other members) at my splash page where I get all the random traffic from the traffic exchanges. So, I am still showing off my splash page and my offer to all the people using the traffic exchanges, but at the same time I am getting more hits to the banner exchange. This way I think that I might have a shot at getting more targeted traffic instead of all the random traffic.

I am not sure how this is going to work for me yet, but it will be interesting to test and see. I will report back to you once I have any results from this “experiment”.
