I have been experiencing a lot of spam in my forums lately. It seems that many have been registering with all sorts of “funny” names, especially related to sexual content. And the ads they have been posting have been especially related to Viagra and sex, some have also been related to real estate.
I had to delete posts every single day due to this problem. So, a few weeks ago I started to search for a phpbb hack to prevent this sort of problem. I found it over at phpbb hacks, the hack is called The Humanizer and all it does is ask a question when a person signs up. The question is this: Are you a human? You have to answer yes to register. After installing this hack I haven`t experienced any spam at all.
